The National Quantum Computing Centre has announced the upcoming Quantum Computing Scalability Conference, to be held March 30-31, 2023, in Oxford.

The event aims to bring together researchers working on different hardware platforms to discuss scalability challenges and contribute to the dissemination of emerging solutions.

This NQCC event aims to bring together experts in quantum computing hardware, across multiple platforms, to make an accurate assessment of scalability, identify bottlenecks and the most pressing problems in the field, compare and discuss solutions, and foster collaborations and the emergence of innovative ideas.

The main focus of the workshop is on the most advanced hardware platforms, such as trapped ions, superconducting circuits, cold atoms, and photonics. Researchers interested in other realization technologies are also invited to attend.

Hardware scalability is one of the main challenges in the field of quantum computing. Currently there are research and engineering challenges that must be addressed on all hardware platforms to meet all scalability requirements. Understanding the obstacles to scalability can help us allocate resources more efficiently.

The conference will be held at Lady Margaret Hall in Oxford, UK, a historic college within the university famous for being the first to allow women admission.
