Thanks to the investment of the World Class Research Infrastructure (WCRI), the University of Padua will host for the the first general purpose trapped ion quantum computer in Italy.

This was the aim of a project named Quantum Computing and Simulation Center (QCSC), led by Padua Department of Physics and Astronomy together with a consortium of research bodies, private companies and public institutions of the highest level, such as Cineca and INFN.
