In collaboration with the ECE Department of the American University of Beirut, Mahdi Chehimi organized the first Quantum Information Summit in Lebanon last weekend.
The event, held on July 22 and 23, hosted multiple distinguished quantum experts from around the world to give exciting introductory talks about the different areas of quantum information science.
Supporting the pioneering event was the ECE department of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture Maroun Semaan of AUB and its chairman, Prof. Ali Chehab.
The first steps are beginning to be taken in Lebanon toward building a robust quantum community that can impact the advancement of the nation’s science.
The organizer is hopeful that this endeavor will mark the beginning of what will be a significant journey and momentum for future quantum-themed events and symposia in Lebanon.
