Cineca participates in the project called “Pilot on Quantum Simulators”, part of the Horizon 2020 and EuroHPC program.
The objective of the pilot action will be to develop, deploy and coordinate at European level a European quantum simulation (QS) infrastructure of about 100 interacting quantum units that will be accessible via cloud.
Furthermore, this project is part of a broader vision that tends to open these first computing platforms (in the form of quantum simulators or first physical computing platforms) to European users and help them become familiar with quantum technologies. The goal is not only to train users in the use of quantum computer systems, but also to develop a first ecosystem of quantum programming structures and application libraries.
