Abstract

ORCA Computing is developing photonic quantum computers, powered by our proprietary quantum memory technology. The benefits of photonic systems are clear: they operate at room temperature, can be built from mature telecoms components, can be rack mounted and can easily be hosted within a standard datacentre. ORCA’s NISQ era device, the PT-Series, exemplifies all these advantages, providing users with a practical foray into quantum machine learning using photonics. Along with the hardware, ORCA has developed a state-of-the-art software toolkit allowing users to implement various algorithms on the PT-Series and to simulate the hardware platform. Most promising use-case examples lay in the areas of image recognition, classification, and optimisation.
